Keycode for a 99 r1

like a utter dick i lost the only copy i had of my key.... I understand that on some bikes you can get a keycode from the ignition barrel or the dealer? just not sure if im able to do either of those things on a bike this old? cheers

Only just seen this post

If you have no joy looking at the ignition barrel for a number,take the top yoke off and take the whole lot to a key shop.Quite often they can make a key to fit the existing lock.

I had a similar situation on a Yamaha RD350LC that I was sorting for a friend.The shop near Dartford did a perfect replacement and a spare for not-very-much
