People are just... urgh.

One of my proudface moments was preventing an early morning dual carriageway pileup getting much worse by not only weaving through it like a boss, but having the presence of mind to run back up the road past the muppets standing around pointing fingers and yapping into their phones, past the bend hiding the crash, and start flagging down traffic.

Even at that, a couple of oncoming cars did decide to ignore the madman standing in the road waving his arms and gesticulating at the slip-road, caned it past me and round the bend, then screeeeech-CRUNCH.

One and only one of those dozy feckers eventually joined me, and not a word of thanks was ever heard from them or from Plod when they eventually turned up.

People. Shouldn't ought to be allowed.

Why... if there's an obstruction on the road... are they not reacting to it sooner?

OK so I've only been driving for 19 years, and riding for about 3.... in that time I've slammed my brakes on once (and gone into the back of a car.... OK it was 2-3 weeks after my test). On the bike, in shit conditions I've only had to dab the brakes a couple of times (even then it was at *cough* 69.9 mph).

The amount of drivers in this clip that don't seem to be paying attention is unreal

It may be that there's a ground blizzard going on which you ca't really see from the high angle.
So it's like driving too fast in fog rather than not reacting to slowing vehicles.

It's always amazed me how dumb people become in an accident situation!!

Out with a group of mates ... wet and greasy country road ... few of them ahead of me as I'd waited for someone to catch up ... came round a blind left hander to find them all standing in the middle of the road round the Vmax rider who'd just decked it hard.

Not one of them had the presence of mind to run back up the road to the blind bend to warn oncoming traffic ... well that is apart from me.

Got to about half way round the bend and heard a car coming ... waved my arms like a looney and he saw me and stopped safely ... the next car locked all four wheels up and slid across the road into the other lane!

Thankfully no one else got hurt, mainly thanks to me ... and all this on the way to a bikers funeral.

Apart from that, only two of us (including myself) bothered going to see the guy who came off in hospital ... suspected broken ribs, suspected collapsed lung ... luckily he wasn't as badly hurt as we first thought ... still couldn't believe that the majority of his so called mates didn't even bother going to see how he was.

The human race ... a race which can astound you in two very different ways ... how utterly brilliant they can be and how utterly dumb they can be!

Gaaaah, the Highway Code advice on accidents is woefully inadequate. Not that anyone has read it anyway, but warning oncoming traffic is literally a lifesaver.
