Considering one of these as an "upgrade" for my cbf 125 as the Honda dealer near me is selling off ex-demos. £2295 anyone heard much about them?

To be fair, no. But in a shock to the system they will probably be less rust prone than the 125 honda.

The pictures I have seen show "Roadwinner" tyres, a friend had those on a Kawasaki 250, best thing she did to that bike was replace them with Bridgestone BT45's, the roadwinners are utter crap.

My local Suzuki dealer doesn't even have one in (last time I checked) so I can't add any more.

Why's a Honda dealer demonstrating Suzuki bikes? Eh?

They popped up as the best selling 126-650cc bike one month in the MCIA figures, so someone's buying them.

Well thats not a bad price but why would you want one?

I just cannot see the logic of a 250 in todays bike climate.

The reviews I read basically said "dull as ditchwater".

I suspect that the reason they are selling them off is because they are not that good and no one has bought one.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Sure, they won't be that good, but for less than a CBF125? If they're low mileage, in good nick and have a good chunk of warranty left, you could probably do worse for an urban commuter. The lack of a standard rear rack is disappointing though.

Although given the licensing situation, I do reckon that they should be asking 125 money (or very close) for new ones. They'll only cost pennies more to make than a 125.

Sometimes it's nice to jump on something small and just get on with it, as Mrs Borg assures me.

There is a lad down the road who has one. Unfortunately it's the usual Suzuki build quality. Cheesey metal and oxidisation on everything metal.

I own one Smile

Its okay, seeing as I needed something reliable to commute 10 miles to work but has taken me on 100 mile commutes when I was working in London. Top speed is 96mph but I'm sure the speedo is 10% out. Usually get 80mpg and a tank holds about £15 worth of juice. Handling is great although the engine is boring. Not fast, but not slow either and yes it is a little dull but feels very dependable.

Had two problems with the bike. The rear brake switch had to be replaced under warranty (only bought in May and now with 5k on the clock) due to water ingress blowing my fuses. The second problem is when I bought new from the dealer, by the time I had got home about 5 miles. My boots had worn through the aluminium coating on the foot pegs where my ankle appears to rub it. Thought that was poo.

Perfect commuter really, narrow and while 189kg isn't super light, it does filter really well and handles surprising well on loose surfaces and tyres have never given me any problems.

My main reason for buying it was that I always end up carrying a pillion and no new bike under 4k does this as comfortably as this one. It seems to have been designed for it with its short gearing making it quite nippy around town even with the wife on the back or a fat mate from work.

Why a 250? Would have thought you would get a 400/600.

Guy at work got one after he was SMIDSY'd on a GSXF.

Bought it for commuting and occasional bimble around

Seems quite happy with it, especially the high MPG.
