Gonna go for a long ride in may. EHIC or travel insurance ?
Most offer upto 125cc....what have you guys opted for, best value etc?
Travelling to Malta on a 636 if that bares relevance.

The AA are one of the very few that offer cover for bikes over 125
and it's a fair price around £50 for the year

Personally I've never bothered with travel insurance, especially in the EU.

Many policies don't cover riding motorcycles (check carefully), and in the EU you'll never pay more than a local would (that can be up to 25% in France). Unlike the US nowhere will leave you to die, you'll just be invoiced at a later date.

ADAC breakdown cover offers some additional protection, including Air Ambulance cover and cover for reparation in the event of injuries and sickness. They'll also loan you a small sum, but that's about it.

Outside of the EU/EEC then you pay your money and take your choice.

The ADAC do offer the "PartnerPlusPackage" policy,

this is the Breakdown cover inc recovery, plus travel insurance run by a 3rd party company for an Annual fee of 98,70 €
Where as the ADAC single Plusmembership for Annual fee: 79,50 € covers

The standard ADAC package is popular with many inc myself
