I bought a bandit 600 mk2 as my first big bike. I'll have an a2 license so it'll be restricted to 47bhp when I've passed my mod 2. It's got a few mods/upgrades that I'll list below, the bike has 22000 miles, 2 previous owners, service history up to 18,000 miles with receipts, a lot of MOT's but currently has no tax or mot.
I believe it will pass its MOT as it's in good nick it just needs new front pads as they're looking a bit skinny.

Mods:
Renthal bars
Gear indicator
Rentek crash bars
Micron exhaust system (full system)
'Bandit' frame inserts, chain guard, oil cooler cover and brake fluid cap
Extended front mudguard
Suzuki 'S' heel guards

The bandit set me back £925 for the bike itself + £100 in diesel to go and collect it (the bike was 200 miles away)

I also plan on raising the rear end with a 40mm jack up kit, getting a tail tidy, dominator headlights and one of those chunky custom seats.

(I'll add more photos soon and sorry about shitty quality)

_Iain_ I think your being a little pessimistic on the price there mate, its a late shape one with relatively low milage and looks reasonably tidy, Im in the trade and I'd give £600 for it with a view to sell on at £1200 with a years ticket.

Personally I think they handle pretty well for a budget bike as long as you remember that's what they are.

I do agree that dommies are shite and also a jack up kit will balls it up too

I suppose dominators are personal preference and two of my mates have dominators on their bikes (sv and bandit mk1) and they seemed fine brightness wise.

I like the look of bandits when jacked up and I was also told it improves handling, is that not true then?

Frankly, no. My mate regretted his and took it off. I couldn't really get on with it either.

Paddy - I'll sell the Sprint at top dollar and if you can just find me a CB1300S with less than 20k on the clock in decent nick for £1250 I'll be chuffed Laughing

The dommies do vary a bit, if you get genuine ones they aren't that bad but still outdone by the standard light.

As for the jack up it alters the weight distribution which buggers up the balance between front and rear suspension. This can be sorted but only if your willing to spend the money on suspension set up

_Iain_ thing is you had a fairly tired early model. Also gs500 and cb500 are miles apart. The GS is a cheap turd whereas the cb500 is one of the best over all bikes ever made lol

I do plan on getting original dominators and what would be needed to do the suspension in order for it to be okay with a raised rear end and how expensive (roughly) would it be to sort out suspension for a jacked up bandit?

To be honest I don't know, it may be a case of setting up and or messing with different springs/oil weights. I do mine myself but I'm still learning, its a bit of a black art!

I agree lol, was thinking about taking off the Suzuki S heel guard and chain guard. Also considering not jacking it up now.

I can't shake the feeling I've seen that plate before... I keep coming back to it. I have a real bad memory of anything since I was about 15... but I do recall seeing it.

Have you done a HPI per chance?

Why does every cunt with a bandit need to put dominator headlights on? They're fucking wank and look dreadful, there I said it! (awaits beating)...

Don't put them on, they're shit, you might as well have a candle on the front of your fucking bike as they don't light up very well, the finish on them is utter shit and when a mate had them on his 125 couldn't see for shit at night, nor could I when I borrowed it for a few weeks. Did I mention they look shit? If you say you like them, well... spose you have a bandit so taste is something you've obviously missed. Wink

Hmm, I sense a new name is afoot. Perhaps next time you'll think of something a little less "my leathers match my bike" mentality. Wink
