When I watched the linked clip of 'The World's Biggest RC Chopper' (on the same page the OP linked to) I saw man stood about 3 mtrs from the rear of a 'big' helicopter (which was Turning & Burning at the time) for the take off.
A malfunction of controller, machine or human error could have resulted in a clip titled, "Man decapitates himself with The World's Biggest RC Helicopter." Smile

People are awesome.

I fly RC but it doesn't do much for me. I must be missing something. I used MS Flight SIM years ago but found nothing exiting about level flight. The only interest is take off and land.

In RC you lose 98% of sensation. Give me a CG125 over RC anyday.

Add some knives and fire onto it and it would be a bad ass weapon. The movement looks like a UFO.

You need to try FPV, (ideally with head tracking)
That is immersive RC.

Did I say I bother?

I just don't do it. Much rather blast a big bike ahp an' dahn the road with 'Some Control'.

Level flight in a plane is not stimulating.
Unless you have to work on navigation, engineering etc. Sitting looking out the window is no fun. Unless you have side gunners shooting Messerschmitts out the sky.

Ah, so you should've said that you used to fly RC.
FPV is huge fun.

No I still fly RC.

Just not very often.

So I should have said I have a remote connection to regular use of RC model flying. Smile

I fly as a passenger in commercial stuff more often. (once/twice a month)
