No you didn't, you said if anyone was bored, could they click like. Not if they could be bothered. Totally different meanings to those very different words.

And before it gets mentioned I have changed my sig because I am trying out different keyword anchor texts linking to separate pages rather than having a single URL with no keywords.
Makes for a more "natural" set of backlinks and improves SEO.

I did ages and ages ago, at least two different mods, even offered BCF discount codes - got no reply....

Ive had a basic URL in the sig for donkeys, I can remove it if its problem, as i said I was just looking at different keywords and which ones tend to work better against the pages they relate to.

Time for a mod to chime in me thinks - I know the forums relaxed and all but Im not out to start upsetting everyone.

Im not intending to spam the shit out of the forum, but the backlinks do make a difference to SEO as they are listed in google webmaster tools as linking to me.....

Hence trying the new keywords

Just because your site is linked to doesn't mean there's any SEO benefit. Read up about it on Google before trying keyword spamming.

I have, quite a lot lately due to the price of getting it done properly ( im still saving ££ for that). Key word spamming is putting thousands of either relevant or un-relevant keywords in your html, or in your pages. Bit like the victor devine thread.

Linking with relevant anchor text is totally different.

For example when a link says "Read More" or "Full Specs" it has no keywords, it doesnt have any relevant anchor text.

If a link says "visit us for screwdrivers, hammer, drills, spanners, pliers, blah blah blah " that is keyword spamming, and although it may have relevant keywords its spamming and will have the site penalised.

If a Link says "view more screwdrivers" and links to a page full of screwdrivers then the anchor is relevant, not spammed ( as only one keyword) and carries (albeit very slightly) more weight then a regular link.

I don't have facebook.

But if you're bored and would kindly click on my link, I will seriously consider getting facebook to click on and like your link.

Thanks.

Will do but AFAIK if rel=nofollow google totally ignores the link. If it totally ignores it, then it shouldnt be counting as a backlink in webmaster tools Confused
Or in a google search for that matter.

Did you message me?
I can't see a message from you in the last ten pages of PMs (about a year).

To my mind your first post in this thread DOES fall very dangerous close to 'unsolicited commercial advertising' - you are asking people to sign up to receive updates from your commercial facebook page.
Can't you just pay someone to give you LOADS of followers?

I was amused when the local climbing wall said "We'll do X when we reach 1000 likes". Of course, there was no way that many local people were in to it and when you looked at the stats it showed all these people "talking about" them were from South America, not West Yorkshire Rolling Eyes. That was around the time I stopped regularly going there, as it goes.

No G, was kickstart and ( i think) korn.
I've messaged kickstart again tonight.

I Know what your saying about the spam, was just after the extra likes, nothing stopping liking the page then hiding posts from that page so they dont actually see them.

Ive never heard of payin for facebook likes! I have heard of paying for backlinks in bulk but it doesnt take google long to catch on and remove you from search results.

Feel free to delete the thread and sig if its causing concerns....

Laughing Laughing everyone tries that trick, I was just after the page passing the 100 likes milestone, apparently then ill get extra data on how people use the page and which posts are being looked at, which ones dont ect so can "guess" at which ones are catching attention and which ones are being scrolled straight past.

One of the most optimistic 'facebook like' requests I've ever seen was in Cambodia, this island called Koh Rong.

There were 5 business owned by two guys, a ferry company, bar, accommodation, scuba and restaurant. On the ferry/dock were lots of signs...

"Click like on all 5 pages, show us, and get a free beer!!!11!"

Unit price for beer, to customer, <$1

Right....

Feel free to PM me - though I suspect I know what the reply will be already.

So, you want to get data on how people use your page by... getting a load of people not interested in your page to sign up for it, so that the data you get won't be very relevant? Smile

Current way to get 'real people' to sign up was to a do competition I thought - offer a semi reasonable price and you'll hopefully at least get people interested in what ever you are offering.

Personally I think trying to use a sig for SEO with multiple links like that is a bit cheeky.
For regular users, a link in your sig so that others users can visit your site, maybe with a description of said site, more reasonable.
