First vid with the new Christmas prezzie and a £9 homemade pole mount....think I'll be making a mk2 version it worked that well.
If any of you guys can let me know how it looks to you I'd be great full. Was shot in 1080p @50 fps and 720p @ 100fps for slow mo bits....and uploaded at 720p .....my Internet is soon slow I only get to see it at 140p! ____________________ Current bikes...cbr929, KDX200's, Rd125lc mk2, RGV250's |

How big was your original file?
I got a Drift Ghost a few days back and a quick try with it a 5 min file was about 600MB even reduced to 720p!
Yours has rendered beautifully with that nice light up there and looks great at 720.
I reckon we will need a BCF Videographers 2014 thread alongside the photo one
You don't need spend much to get a pole mount with a light camera.

Thanks for all the replys and feed back guys!
To answer the questions
Doggone
File size is 260meg after rendering it down to 720p for YouTube...sounds about the same as your getting ..the clip is roughly 2.5 mins so we are in the same ball park on that one!and yes I fancy doing some more vids...this was a quick tryout just to see what it looked like...sports video cams are very new to me...well ones that have wide angle and do more than 480 res are anyhow! but looking forward to having a giggle and trying new stuff....I do a lot of photography and enjoy trying something different...we could learn off each other here guys!
Paddy.....I always look like that....and erm it's a lot steeper than it looks! (honest ) nice to hear it looked ok as tbh when I watched it back vs the original file I was a bit WTF that's cr@p but maybe that's my Internet connection then...phew
Snoosnoo.....well spotted! Reason on those shots is it set the cam to film upside down when on the helmet cam...I forgot to set this back to normal when using the monopod ....so flipped the image during edit....lesson learnt there!
Chris-red......very very easy...furniture castor and a 6 foot length of 1/2 inch dowel rod and 3 M5 nuts and bolts with some washers and bits of angle iron as counterbalance weight.
Plenty of how to vids on YouTube but basically cut the wheel and axle from the castor...drill a hole mid way down the dowel and bolt that to where the wheel used to go....then mount your camera to one end of the pole and add weight to the other end to balance out the camera and that's it! Because the castor I used was a cheap non bearing type it has a fair bit of unwanted wobble so a more expensive one will be bought when I'm next in town! ____________________ Current bikes...cbr929, KDX200's, Rd125lc mk2, RGV250's |

Old Thread Alert!
The last post was made 12 years, 52 days ago. Instead of replying here, would creating a new thread be more useful? |
