Hi I own a 2010 Yamaha ybr 125 it's done 21000 mile it's 2 year old I have owned it from new now sometimes I'll start it and I'll push the electric start and it starts fine sometimes it will bring on a warning light I recorded a video when it originally did it and it does one long flash then 9 short flashes I showed the show room where I got the bike and they said it's an unrecognized code so they can't do nothing about it sometimes I'll be riding along and the warnig light comes on and engine cuts out has anyone else had the same issue and has anyone resolved it

Take it back to the dealer and tell them to do something about it - personally I wouldn't bother trying to fix it myself and i'd push for the dealer to sort it.

Then again, with the recent hassle with Victor Devine you have to wonder whether they will do anything at all ...

[Edit] How long ago did you buy the bike?

They don't know jack it would seem, that's code 19

check the black/white wire going from the ecu to the ignition, it's loose

And while you're at it check the rest of the connectors/etc, probably just crudded up a bit here and there,

Haynes has a list of all the codes, and if you search hard enough on here i listed them all a while back, unsurprisingly in a thread about fault code 19

I bought the bike in December 2011 I originally took the bike to get sorted while it was in warranty and they said it was an unrecognized fault code now it's run out of warranty so I'm gonna have to pay for it

Fault occurred whilst in warranty - the fact it's now outside warranty period is irrelevant

You've already taken the bike to them in the warranty period?

Not being funny but at the first occurrence of this and having the dealer behave this way I'd have been on to Yamaha themselves and complained about the dealer and then gone to another less twatty dealer.

You got fobbed off and did nothing about it.

+1 ^^

Ring Yamaha UK but be nice on the phone. You may find that even just outside of warranty they may be ok about it if you have a full service history. However, this fault appears to have occurred within warranty anyway. Say you are happy with the bike and were planning to upgrade to another Yamaha in the future, but the attitude of the dealer has made you worried about their customer support......
