 |
|
I did a quick search and it's says that I need to pay £1? but it says I can park in a q-park for free, whats a q-park? Am I actually likely to find a space turning up at 11am ish anywhere near Oxford Street? Where postcode?
I don't mind paying the pound but would rather do it beforehand then faffing around with a phone and credit card when I park my bike. ____________________ Yamaha FZR400RR 3tj

I used this site when I was working in London a couple of years ago.

Q park is free
Go down Oxford street, turn onto great portland street, then turn down the first (or second) left. Might me called Mortimer street, I can't remember. You soon reach a square. It's behind John Lewis. Go around the square, into the inside of it (it will make sense when you see it, it's a bit like a spiral), and you find the entrance to q-park. Approach the gate and it will open for you. Once inside, turn [CORRECTION - TURN RIGHT, my bad], and voila, free and safe bike parking.
There is always space. I was there on the 20th of December at 6pm and there was space. ____________________ I'm autistic. That means I'm smarter than you.

Just use the carpark behind John Lewis or pay a quid. I parked my Bandit daily on the rank 100yds down the road from there on Henrietta Place for the most of last year and it never got touched. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

White's Row is closer to my house than it is to Oxford Street
There are a lot of places you can park further that you can get a chain around something too. But depending on how close to the centre of things you are, the more likely the spots will be filled up. It can be easier to park in somewhere like Camden - free and many bays have anchors for attaching chains - and walk. Oxford Street is about 20 minutes stroll from Lincoln's Inn Fields for example.
