New year greeting all, I have part ex'd my vtr1000 for a much smaller, but probably more usable and sensible zzr600, a very tidy 05 reg with 16k on the clock, have I done the right thing and will I be happy with the new bike. Also in the new year change around my Hinckley Bonnie is now up for sale, at the shop where the zzr came from, it was hardly getting used, less than 1400miles in the last three years, but when I went out on it I really enjoyed the ride. I don't know if that will be the end of the changes / clear out, the wife says I don't need all those bikes, but doesn't mention her wardrobe full of shoes, anyway time will soon tell.

Bit late to ask. If you're already having buyer's regrets then I'd guess probably not, but how on earth could anyone else know what you'll enjoy?

What was it that you liked about the VTR? Why did you trade down?

Wives know nothing; mine's just been bending my ear about why would I need a 3rd bike, asked if I'd prefer her with 3 tits. You should never ask a question to which you might not like the answer, right?

No idea as I have never ridden either, but apparently the ZZR is faster and does 10mpg more (stats according to MCN). Sounds like an upgrade to me!

Point out to the wife if it boils down to need you neither need to ride her or the Bonneville but the Bonneville is cheaper to maintain doesn't nag and is unlikely to dry up in the future, while she can be replaced for a model with a cheaper shoe shopping bill.

I'd trade my wife for a Bonneville not the other way round!

never been on a vtr but i enjoy my zzr600. happy chugging around town in low revs, and happy screaming away up to 14k revs when it suits.

id only sell or swap the zzr for the sake of trying a different bike as its my first so new expereinces and all that (and would probably regret it 6 months later!). good little bike tho.

Not sure I'd really describe the ZZR as smaller. It'll need a few more revs, but won't make too far off the power of the big twin.

I've had my ZZR for 6 months now and I'm still not bored of it, unlike the other bikes I've had.

It's such a good all-rounder and so cheap to run and insure I can't justify getting something else so will most likely just run it into the ground.

Funnily enough though I was thinking when I do change bikes, I'll be for a big v-twin Smile
