Hello all,

I am currently having an issue with the right side of indicators on a 1986 Kawasaki Z400 J2.

The problem is this; the front right indicator turns on but stays on and does not flick, the same also happens to the dash light. The rear indicator does not come on at all but I have checked that the bulb is working. When the left side are turned on I can hear the electrical switch clicking on and off but not when the right side is used.

To me this suggests what part may have failed but my knowledge of electronics is limited. Any help and advice is appreciated Smile

If the bulb is fine in the rear right indicator, ( have you checked it and seen it light in another working indicator?), then you must have a wiring issue, it could be the live to the indicator or the ground, see where the wires go from it and check for corrosion/issues in connectors, may be stuff under the seat.

Yes I switched the bulb with a working indicator and that was all good. Would a wiring issue still allow the front right bulb to light up? I appreciate they are all in a circuit but would a faulty flasher relay not be the cause? I'm assuming each side of indicators has it's own relay.

No, the relay is common to both sides. You either have a faulty connection to the rear indicator or a faulty bulb.

Well I have eliminated the bulb as a fault so wires it is! Thumbs Up
