I just don't get the obsession with locking him up! I don't understand how any of our lives are safer now...

You can kind of draw a similarity with religion here. Or any kind of herd mentality that humans exhibit.

Large group of people want to do something naked? It's ok, because lots of people want to do it, so it must be ok, because so many people already think it's ok!

Although I think fundamentally he is doing nothing wrong, it is something that I wouldn't want to see outside my house or when I went to the shops, nor would I want my daughter to have to look at him. I live about 500 yards from a naturist site. Those that use it go to and from clothed, but once inside enjoy the freedom that they want.
It comes down to social responsibility (we can go on about his rights all day long) and that in many places the social norm is to be clothed or at least have genitals and breasts covered.
I wouldn't mind a pert young blond going around naked all day long, as long as I was allowed to touch too, but little old ladies or my ex-wife that would be wrong.
As for the group nudity........... there are females naked in the group so it will always be allowed.

Twice in Barcelona I've seen people strolling stark naked on the seafront. And when I say seafront, it's not exactly Whitby, it's Barcelona, a thriving city full of life and people etc. They don't mind the nakeds. Actually it's an odd one - you aren't allowed to enter shops if you have no shoes on or if you have your t-shirt off, but public nudity is ok it seems. I don't know the actual law though, it's just stuff I've seen with my own eyes.

What that about while kids were around?
Of course, this also happens for motoring offences.
You aren't harming anyone driving while disqualified. But keep doing it and you get locked up.

In the end, there are many many laws which have some basis in good reason - if you don't follow them and more, don't at least hide the fact you don't follow them - you've got to expect punishment.

I don't have a particular problem with this.
But nor do I with many laws.

Plenty of people get away it for bits.

Just like plenty of people do wheelies and not get prosecuted.

But going around on one wheel absolutely everywhere and the police are going to start getting annoyed.
Get prosecuted and keep doing it and you're asking for trouble.
