I am regularly getting 43-45 out of 50 on the practice tests, should I wait till I am 50/50 every-time or just go for it?

I thought that too Embarassed

You should be fine to take the theory now, but make sure you practise the hazard perception!

i got asked about colour of cat eyes, stopping distances and some first aid ones

also the last 3-4 questions the answers were in the story you were meant to read ..... remember you can go back and change your answers

It is all common sense stuff really and the hazard perception thing is a game ..... so get gaming

You dont even need to invest in a CD-ROM now you can even get the hazard perception test as an app on your phone. Lol i wondered when doing my revision for my bike theory test last year how i ever had the patience of sitting on the computer for all of them run throughs when revising for my car test all of them six years ago when i was 17. Ha ha.

Just do it....its pretty hard to fail. Dont even think you need to practise buddy, its mainly common sense and the easiest part of passing your tests.

I got 49/50, after revising for nearly 45 minutes. The only question I got wrong was about a tram.

It's not expensive to sit the test, just go sit it as a test run to see how you do. If you pass bonus!

Get it done its easy, I used the iPad versions of the tests and did well. I think I got 46 on the actual theory test.

I do remember some bloody silly questions popping up like:

If you come across a casualty and have to do chest compressions how far do you press down?

There were about 4 options.

Now I would be most upset if my doctor only had to answer questions on the grade of oil to put in a motorcycle intended for use in the uk before he could give me a prostrate exam!

Morons should be flogged for irrelevant questioning!

I got it wrong in any case and I hold a first aid certificate! Lol!

Just download a few different theory test apps on your phone and keep ppracticing as much as you can.

One of the WTF! questions I actually got was, what type of dog wears a florsecent orange harness? The answer is probably not what you first think of tbh and it nearly caught me out. Wink

It was in centimeters! Pressing down a meter would certainly expell most of the air and lungs out of poor Johnny doe'erty

I can see the idea behind dropping bits of I for like that into tests but I would prefer a compulsory first aid section/emergency procedure section that was more like the cbt where you took training rather that passed a test?

In any case if I'm the casualty please call an ambulance and don't start thinking of various road signs or stopping distances!

I've got my Theory test on Friday. Dance! Praying
borrowed a hazard perception DVD off a friend.
passed my car test in October 1995 so my problem is I keep clicking the hazards a bit too quickly as I spot them earlier than someone with little or no road experience.
still it should help on my Mod 2...

Something I wasn't clear with at first was that it only becomes a hazard if you have to change direction or speed. I too was seeing a car in a side road, then seeing the taxi badge and knowing fine well that it was gonna be pulling out but I had clicked as soon as I spotted it not at the point it changed my direction or speed, or at least made me act upon my direction or speed.

Remember these tests are designed for people who don't have the experience to sense when some tit is gonna spoil your day!
