First off i am not new to biking, but i am on 2 stroke. I have a bit of a noob question. THe bike i have just got is the derbi gpr 125 2t, it never came with an air filter Sad I would like to know if their is any deference to the 2 stroke and 4 stroke air filters. For example can i use a 4 stroke air filter on a 2 stroke ? I just want to be sure.

Use the correct air filter for your bike. It's as simple as that.

Previous owner used it with no air filter... nice. Laughing

You need a wet type filter apparently. Page 34 gives information on fitting/removing/filter oil, but can't see the product specification. Are there no derbi dealers/parts suppliers you could contact for a replacement? If not you can probably find a generic filter/bodge one yourself but i'm not sure how advisable that would be vs an original.

derbi is now part of piaggio, although they take feckin ages to send parts from italy/spain considering the postman could send them quicker, there are plenty of dealers.

I suggest you phone / email fowlers in bristol, they have probably the largest stock in the uk of piaggio parts, but make sure you have your chassis number handy.

Hi

No air filter means rapid wear in dusty conditions.

You could try a pod filter, but then you will likely have a pain rejetting.

2nd hand airbox from Ebay would probably be your best bet

All the best

Keith
