Although to be fair, if you got in early enough, you may have managed to ruthlessly scam enough other rubes out of their money to cover your losses.

I miss Warped, he was much more fun than this. Sad

I'm betting that it would show a lulzy net loss, unless you knock something up in Paint.

Pass the popcorn

No one is getting wound up, everyone is laughing at how this thread has turned out.

Had he not made a loss then I don't see any good reason for him to not give us the details.

Doesn't matter if he bites or not, he got scammed and so there are many lulz to be had.

This might be wound up in the case of users who are disliked either for being stupid or nasty - for instance warped in the former case or jive bunny (I believe it was he) for the latter when he explained how he ripped off ebay users, targeting individuals over organisations.

It's not 'hard', nor takes any skill to make people being you're stupid or an arse, if that's the desire.

Harder might be to convince people you are otherwise inclined.

My mine gripe is that the internet has not changed as proclaimed.

I would therefore like my £456 subscription, £230 bonus pack, £8759 supermegaaccount fee, £535 joining fee, £989 VIP fee refunded please.

Isn't one of the principles of a pyramid scheme being that it only benefits the early adopters? Therefore its quite plausible OP has made some cash.

Think it'd be nice if he just admitted its a pyramid scheme though. Not that I expect such from the likes of a person who is willing to happily and intentionally draw people into such a scheme, all con men and scam artists are sociopaths.

Either you made a loss or you got enough people to sign up that you made profit at their expense.

Were you scammed or did you scam others?

edit: typo

Correct, it is a form of MLM/Pyramid but on a completely different level. This hasn't been done before, like this.

You share shit all day long on Facebook & Twitter for free, why not get paid for it?

I've never been a part of a MLM/Pyramid before but I know how they work as I've helped people setting them up, including my mum in the past.

I work in web design/dev and I really do think this is going to be massive and change the way social media and sharing works.

I don't exactly say that lightly.

This really doesn't end well and in either case it doesn't sit comfortably with me.

Either OP has made a silly mistake, lost a noticeable amount of money and has too much pride to admit it and serve as a warning to others.

Or the OP has made a profit at the expense of others, which he won't admit because it makes him look a twit.

Either way it isn't good.

This has gone on long enough really and I've only been adding fuel to the fire by winding you lot up and not saying anything.

How much has Rippln cost me in total?

A: $95 for the yearly fee, when I signed up. I also had a running subscription for about 3 months, at a cost of $25/pm.

So in total, it's cost me $170 = £103.

How much money have I made from Rippln?

A: $0/£0.

You can make money from it, someone I know has made several hundred dollars from it but he was already a big network marketer before and had 20,000 people in his Ripple but he wasn't pushing it.

I haven't push it at all, I just collected people under me in the Ripple (for free, nobody upgraded to anything and that's why no money was made).

I'm glad about this for a couple of reasons...

After nearly 20 years on the internet, I have always steered well clear of this stuff until someone showed me Rippln. I wasn't immediately drawn in by the videos/marketing, it was how well the platform was built and how good it looked.

Long story short, I got far too busy with my main business (web design) and a few other opportunities I was involved with.

In the short 5 months I decided to venture in to this world of network marketing/multi level marketing/affiliate marking, etc, I worked out something...

I fucking despise having to try and recruit anyone in to a business. I actually didn't like the concept of it at all, I suppose I did get drawn in by the numbers, the concept and marketing of it, so I guess you could say that I was 'scammed' by it.

I cancelled my membership a couple of months ago and left it at that.

https://i.imgur.com/IU60Gw3.jpg
https://i.imgur.com/zdA1yAH.jpg

Why am I explaining myself?

Some of you are right, if this stops other people from signing up to Rippln, then that's a good thing. Someone might come across this thread and read it.

So yeah, I lost £103 with Rippln... that doesn't bother me as I had money to burn and was looking for something to sink my teeth in to and one good thing did come out of it...

It lead me on to one of those other opportunities I was talking about, that involved drop shipping on ebay.

I started at the begining of November 2013 and by the first month, had turned over £10,000 with a profit of £2,500 all by doing 2-3 hours a night on it. So I guess Rippln wasn't so bad after all for me, as it lead me on to what I'm currently doing. I don't have to recruit anyone, I don't have to rely on anyone but myself and it's a great money maker. In total, up until today, I've turned over £11,190 with a profit of about £3,000.

Against my better judgement of 20 years on the internet, Rippln was the one that suckered me in. I lost £103 but I ended up making £3,000 as a result of finding something else that was connected to Rippln (in-directly, as someone else showed me who was in Rippln).

*Queue the hilarity... Laughing

Bingo. No problem everyone.

My moralising wins again.

Good on you for fessing up though. Redemption is a long hard road but it is worthwhile overall.

But fuck me I've been conned out of far more money than that and fessed up, don't see why you took so long to admit it.

And yet up until today still insisted it was no scam and implied you'd made cash dolla from it.

More importantly how much is it going to cost to remove TUGs tounge from your arsehole?

I actively told anyone who knew me and people on my personal Facebook that I was out of all of that shit, just not on here Very Happy

I did meet some cool people, I learned some cool shit and it put me on to the ebay business as well as prompted some personal projects/ideas I've been working on.

It actually was a worth while experience in all honesty, so what I lost £103, that nothing in the grand scheme of things considering what I gained.

What you missed there though... he never said I made a tidy profit from Rippln, he was referring to eBay Wink

I never once said I made any money from Rippln either, you lot connected those dots and the more I wouldn't say, the more you wanted to know....

If you know me, you would know I wasn't involved in Rippln or any other MLM stuff, months ago Thumbs Up

Look on the bright side... You're odds on for a 2014 BCF award.

Probably epic fail of the year, but hey every little helps.
