Claimed 'up to' 200mpg combined, disc front brake, proper forks and two seats + rack for £1300 at the moment - seems like a pretty decent deal seeing that you can be paying not too far off that for a Chinese cub on the upper end.

I would love an old cub but aren't willing to pay those silly ebay prices from some old thrashed, worn out piece of poo.
The Honda Wave 110i is the spiritual successor, fantastic on paper but the styling is god aweful. All I see is Asians in flipflops and go faster stickers? Please Honda, something a little more conservative. As a modern take on a cub?

I would happily buy that one pictured though!

Remember the design of the original was an up to date modern but fairly generic design of the time - just as the 'wave' is for today. I'd suggest it IS a modern take on a cub!

As far as interesting goes; yes, it doesn't significantly out perform a S-RR, nor be lighter than a 690E (with similar engine etc) nor match/better the specs of a highland 950.

So, that leaves 100% of the new bikes out there as 'not interesting' .... from that, of the 100% of bikes left, for me 200mpg with real suspension at the front and a sale price that's very reasonable for a respected brand, that is interesting!

110cc is a limit for one of the asian countries, so must be purpose made for them

Had a go once on my mates C90 cub, it was fucked but back then I was only paid when I was actually at work and he was good enough to lend it me for the day, he said don't take it over 45 as it starts to shake, I asked why and he said something about the engine being worn and needing a rebuild, at 44 mph it was smooth as silk, 45mph it was like trying to ride a jackhammer and jumped all over the road!

It's nothing new or exciting.

They've been making something very similar for decades. The Australian postal service issue a lightly offroad-style C90 called a CT90 (then later a CT110) to cope with dirt roads. They Call it a "postie bike".

Postie bike also gets a two speed final transmission I believe - selectable by hand when stopped, but gives a bit more flexibility for dirt riding.
Always like the idea, but a bit costly in the UK.

I sort of like in a at least it's not a bland scooter sort of way.
No storage so really needs top box to work as a commuter (for me anyhow). Wonder what market niche it's aimed at?

110kg will get you pretty much any pit bike you want. And that includes the ones with 18hp and decent spec stuff to cope with it.

Have you checked the nose weight for your car towing? 110kg is pretty high.

In the end, the engines tend to weight pretty similar whether they be a 50cc or 160cc, as they're all around the same basic design.

I'd kinda liked the idea of having maybe a silly-tuned 160cc for fun stuff, a small-valve Honda 90 for economy (or other similar options), then a 140 for competition (so you're not competing in so expensive a class), say. Realistically, not really worth the hassle of expense.
