Nickel Plating

I want to nickel plate a complete Rickman frame. Anyone know of a good workshop that will do this, preferably in North East but willing to travel for a good job.

Aye....I wouldn't restrict yourself too much with finding somewhere local - it's not always where the best platers are, esp for m/cycles, and post is relatively cheap now. Do Rickman still exist? It may be worth giving them a call

The engine is a Kawasaki 900.

Although Rickman no longer exist, contacting a frame maker is a good idea and might give me a lead.

Hi StanS......interesting bike you have there, it'd be great to hear something about it....how you came across it etc Pics would be cool too.
The chrome frame was an integral part of the CR look, most chromed frames at the time had rough finishes around certain areas, I don't know how far Rickman went with preparing the frame to make it look as good as possible - all over.
Are you looking at restoring the bike to original spec?

Is it a bright green one?

I'm surprised Rickman decided to use a tubular swingarm rather than a box-section one. It must have some serious bracing up the front because the tubing looks piddly.

Interesting photos of the Rickmans.

The rolling frame chassis was bought on ebay and imported from Denmark. It has dymag wheels and lockheed brakes. Engine sourced via ebay as well. Plan a full restoration once have got the Moto Martin, Norton Atlas and GSXR 750 slapside finished.

Will post some pics of the Rickman once I can get them scanned in sometime.
