Unexpected sun

How does everyone manage this, and sun in general? Sunglasses or tinted visors?

Been a pretty dull day all day, but got caught out driving into the sun on a few roads and couldnt see shit. Do you carry one of the above and oull over to put on? Or pre plan for the journey? Have seen people mention tinted pinlocks too but i cant fit one on my lid?

Internal sun visor, first on my Caberg V2, then on my HJC IS MAX. Never going to get a helmet without one again.

I usually ride with a tinted visor 24/7 unless its really bad weather/going to get dark whilst i'm out - then I carry the spare to swap over usually.

An internal visor helmets easiest but my favourite helmet doesn't have one

Cheap easy option is to get some black tape and put a strip over the top of your visor - acts as a sun shade.

Most of the time I use a funky full face that has the three-press-stud arrangement similar to classic open face lids. Have both a clear and tinted visor, press studs make it a cinch to swap. Visors themselves are cheap and easy to carry. Not a fan of visor swapping on other helmets since they require faffing about with a screwdriver and tiny, easily-misplaced bits.

I'm with the Shaggy one. All my helmets have had the drop down sun visor. The new HJC one is very light but it works well enough. Thinking of getting a darker one though.

Anyone wear spectacles with those drop-down sun visor'd helmets? I've always been concerned about clearance issues but have somehow managed to avoid trying on a single one of those helmets in my life

I too am an internal sun visor convert. Best invention since...well forever as far as I am concerned.

No more leaving for work in heavy duty sunglasses to keep out the blinding morning sun in a clear sky only to hit a motorway 10 minutes later with a peasouper fog on it and just look like Roy Orbison taking a ride on a dark day. It's just not convenient to remove sunglasses whilst actually riding or stopping on the hard shoulder.

My sun visor is up and down more than a whore's drawers most days with our poxy weather.

Internal sun visor, and I put a strip of tape across the top of the visor. You may be surprised how little of your vertical FOV you really use, unless you're in regular danger of being dive bombed by eagles or witches or such.
