I use only when driving (not riding), and have light brown and dark grey (to avoid being dazzled by HID of other cars). They are clip on ones. For me light brown is better both day and night, dark grey was too dark, and can't see the navigation well. Dark grey one was for fishing not driving.

I don't do fishing myself, but I think dark grey one is for fishing in summer bright sun light, while light brown is for normal sun light or cloudy day. There was also light grey one too, I haven't tried light grey ones but I think they will be similar to light brown ones how well you can see. One thing I can say is you can see the colours better with grey ones than brown ones. So I reckon light grey ones may be the best for all round use like driving and fishing.
I think it depends on x% of transmittance and x% of Pola.
With larger Pola lenses you can't read LED display panels (Navigation) well.
But larger Pola value is good for finding fish in the water. So it may be balance.

I have some standard grey polarising prescription specs, had for a couple of years now. Find them great TBH. Perfect for driving, where you go in and out of bright blinding light, reflecting off puddles and then into shadows of trees/building etc. Eliminate the glare of the former, and not too dark for the latter. Weren't cheap though - ~£200 odd being prescription.
Do check your satnav though, these often have polarised screens and if the wrong way, you won't be able to see it with the shades on! Similarly when I walk into the office, half the LCD screen I can see normally, half are totally black!
