So I will maybe browse a bit but no more posts from me.

Been a pleasure speaking with most of you.

Shit mate, really sorry to hear that. After getting back onto a bike after your big crash, you would have hoped your luck would have been with you a bit more. I guess with your job as well you can't afford to be injured, so it's understandable.

Hope you're doing okay, all the best!

You do know about modified bikes don't you? It doesn't have to be the end of the road. I have a friend who rides with one arm, I also have friends who ride without a leg or two.

Contact NABD https://www.nabd.org.uk/ they might be able to support you holistically as well as practically.

Whatever your decision, hope your rehab goes well. Thumbs Up

I can see why your immediate decision may be to make a snap decision to quit everything, but hold your horses there chap.

A) How exactly have you hurt yourself ?

B) Don't put yourself under any pressure to do anything.

C) You hardly need to still be riding to post on here. Loads of regulars don't have a bike.

Do you mind me asking what injuries you sustained that won't allow you to ride again?
Someone i know isn't meant to ride due to surgery he had on his knee after an accident, but he still rides with and he was told to hang up his helmet 10+ years a go and he's never had any problems riding in his condition.

Be positive mate, someway you will be able to ride again

So I have a fake leg from riding and it looks as if I have really buggered the knee and pro lapsed one of my discs. No movement coming from that leg at all currently. Have tests done as we speak

Sorry I deleted that post as you posted in the mean while as it sounded a bit flippant, but yes I do have just one leg below knee.

The guy that works for me spotted the aftermath

I'm not sure I'd have ridden again after your previous injury so I guess you know what your talking about when you say it's time to stop Sad
Plenty of the regular posters on here no longer have bikes it seems so I wouldn't worry If you plan on sticking around.
Anyway take care whatever you decide.

Don't know you (well, don't know anyone here yet really Laughing ) but sorry to hear of this. But right after the accident is never the best time to make decisions on what you can and can't do in the future - I do know from personal experience! Wait, see how things go, try not to get depressed about it (easy to say, I know, but as said, this is from personal experience). I'm sure you've probably got some good mates on BCF who will support you through a difficult period, why not stick around?

Besides, you can buy the bike back and sell it to me, for cheaps, obvs. Wink

Best of luck with your movement mate, shit news Sad

Sorry to hear of your accident.

Do, however, try and think positively. It's amazing how you can heal from injuries - and i'm talking from experiance here, after having my pelvis snapped in half in 2003.

Get well soon Thumbs Up

Really sorry to have read that Sad

Take some time to heal up and think things over...and see how your injuries pan out in the long run, before making any final decisions.

I've got a very good friend who, after a fairly bad crash, gave his bike away vowing to never ride again. However, a couple of years down the line and now being a lot more mobile without pain than he has been for some time, he is really itching to get another bike and keeps drooling over mine when he sees it Laughing

Take care care and get well soon. Hope things go well. Thumbs Up Karma
