Just bought a PS3.. on the hunt for some brilliant games. Would really quite like an RPG and a Flight Sim (dog fighting of somekind).

So what are your favorite PS3 games of all time?

Metal. Gear. Solid.

Buy a PS2, and get the metal gear trilogy. Not even sure if the first MG is on PS2, think its from the 80's the first one but the story is so unique and amazingly put together.

Think you get get MGS2 Sons of Liberty, MGS3 Snake eater and some irrelevant mg game in one disk for PS3, but at least watch MGS1 on youtube, and start with number 2, you will not regret it. Thumbs Up

Metal Gear Solid 4: Sons of the Patriots will blow your mind.

Get the Mass Effect trilogy. Also worth getting the Silent Hill 2 HD remake.

Loved, played and completed all the Ace Combat games right from Air Combat!

Hated Assualt Horizon though. I got on on release played it for about and hour and haven't touched it since. Skies of Liberation is MUCH better IMO

Metal gear solid is Gash. The first one was excellent, I loved it. After that they got so boring. I tried to give the 4th one ago I played it for about 2 hours and did nothing but run between cut scenes then got killed by a robot.

The last of Us and the Uncharted Games are great although I didn't get on with UNcharted 3 as well as the others.

Gran Turismo 5 is good.

The Batman games are excellent too as are the God of War Games.

As for RPG Skyrim obviously but it is better on PC.

You're supposte to watch the cutscenese, it's just like a movie and I've seen each of them at least 20 times (yes I've completed it over that Embarassed )

I bought Skyrim on the steam sale and to be honest i only played it for about half an hour and got bored. It's probably a game that get's better the longer you play it but within that half hour it didn't really grab me.

Grabbed the Bioshock trilogy for £12 and it's fantastic.

I'm an xbox gamer simply because of forza and gears of war.

However, I did buy a PS3 just for the killzone games. Utterly superb IMO.

I loved the Ninja Gaiden series on Xbox 360 - they ported it over to PS3 as well so assuming its the same gig then definitely worth a bash, has the right ratio of hack n'slash mixed with puzzles/thinking through a problem and fucking annoyingly hard bosses. This thread has inspired me to go through the series again.

Skyrim is another obvious choice if you want to kill at least 100 hours. Fallout 3 is another contender.

Gears of War series worth a pop though does get a bit repetitive.

I got massively bored with skyrim, ended up skipping loads of side quests just to finish it

I loved MGS2 and snake eater, thought MGS4 was shite, the cut scenes were a joke and I didn't like being a pensioner.

GT5 is ok, very slow loading times though.

Last of us is good.

Uncharted 2/3 are ok.

GTA4 and GTA5 are good, but play them in order. GTA5 online is shite.

I'm enjoying assassins creed 4, was cheap on Amazon. It is lacking in a few areas but the pirate ships make up for it. Some of the other AC games are also good, but probably skip the 1st as it is uber repetitive.

God of war is cool too.

Skyrim is for autistic teenagers, better than oblivion but that isn't hard, Morrowind was better than both.

Fallout new vegas is exceptional, although the PS3 game of the year edition with all the add ons is glitched to hell and doesn't work, a well known issue if you google it. Better on 360/PC.

I did watch the cut scenes that was I was so bored. There are plenty of Games that are like movies and do it well.

Farenheit and Heavy Rain Spring to mind.

I googled it that MGS game has a 71 minute cut scene. That simply is not good storytelling.

MGS4 has roughly 8 hours of cut scenes btw.
They are the greatest thing I've ever watched, even paused to get food. 11/10 would do again.

In that 8 hours I could complete better games than MGS.
