stupid icy roads

hi guys I need abit of advice I ride the same way to work everyday
& this morning I nearly came off because of the ice I was going at a steady pace & then hat 2 acelerate & the whole bike just went sideways a work mate said I was lucky to stay on because he saw me from behind and said it looked bad anyway I can go a different way there do u think I should go and change the way I go

if its not as icy the other way then yes, but i would have thought it would be the same,
when you ride on slippy roads, dont accelerate hard, dont apply the front brake hard, use mainly the back brake or engine braking. if you aviod any sudden braking , acceleration or turning then you should be ok.

cheers mate this way is extremely icy coz it has no drainage
I should of metion that sorry and the other way adds 20mins onto the trip

well to be honest its up to oyu. it depends how confident you are. i would go the non-icy way to be honest, unless i had like a cheap cg or somethin then i wouldnt be so botherd about dropping it.
