Can anyone recommend a training school for DAS in the Bristol area? I did my CBT with the Welsh guys who offer training just behind Fowlers, but interested to know what others think of alternatives.

My brother did his with

I did my CBT at Clevedon before it was sold to them.

Thanks, I'll have a look at them. The Keynsham site is not too far from me.

These guys have a Bristol School https://www.phoenixtrainingonline.co.uk/centre-Bristol.asp

I did all my stuff with their Amesbury school which was very good.

Years back now, no idea what they're like these days/with the new licensing stuff but had a good experience with Ace. Have done 2 CBT's and a few days training with them. Used to be in Brislington, then behind Fowlers for a while - they've relocated elsewhere now but maybe the same bunch you've done training with already?

Stupid me the one I'm going with is Ace Motorcycle training
https://www.acemotorcycletraining.co.uk/ apparently next to the football club where ever that is.

This is the reply I got when inquiring; bear in mind I've already got cbt and theory.

Quote:
So next step is the module 1, off road training and test on a restricted 500cc. We charge £155 for the 1 day course, 9am - 4pm,with the test taken the following morning. The price includes the test fee and bike hire.

Finally. .. module 2, on road training and test. We highly recommend doing 2 days training with a test the following morning. This costs £375.
We do offer a 1 day course with test the following morning also for £265.

If you put a deposit down initially for both modules, they can be done in a row or seperately within 6 months then we offer a package price.
For 1 day on both modules including tests normally adds up to... £420 which we can do as a package for £390.
Or for 1 day on module 1and 2 days on module 2 add up to £530 which we can do as a package for £500.

To book a package deal a deposit of £150 is required. You can then pay £100 when you start your module 1 and the balance when you start the module 2.

The packages will be running until approx the end of March.

We are open 7 days a week for training. The tests are only available on weekdays.

Looks like a good deal and gives me the flexibility to do it in 2 parts, which will be easier to manage around work. I assume you're going for A2 if they're talking about restricted 500cc?

Yup it's a very good deal and yeah I'm going for the A2, only 22 and my theory runs out this year.

Not too late, I've emailed all the recommended places including this one for prices, so it's good to get some feedback.

No decision yet, but probably down to either Pheonix or BMT. Pheonix are favourites as they offer a discount for Armed Forces and I'm always keen to support those who support us uniformed types.

Your deal with Ace looks pretty good, assuming they offer similar prices for Cat A DAS, but they haven't got back to me yet.

Spoke to a couple of biker mates when I was back in Bristol yesterday and they all did theirs with Kickstart in Keynsham and had a good experience, so seems a safe thumbs up for them too if you need another option.

Decided to book Mod 1 day + test with Pheonix. I'll post back progress, but couldn't get a theory test booked until late March so got a few weeks to wait. Mad

I passed with Phoenix Bristol with Mike training me. I couldn't praise him enough. Very patient and really good, helpful analysis when I got things wrong.

I did both Mod 1 (twice!) and Mod 2 training with Phoenix, passing my Mod 2 today, first time.

I can strongly recommend them and having seen some of the other instructors/students at the test centre I can say their manner, methods and professionalism are first class.
