I need your crashed motorcycle Gear Please

Hi everyone
Im doing a presentation in a couple of weeks about motorcycle gear and i would like to pass the message of how important it is to wear a proper protective equipment while riding a motorcycle.
If any of you would have any crashed helmets or thorn clothes i would buy them of you
I would like them really for free but will cover the postage fees if its necessary.
Please Help Me

Could always buy a cheap jacket and helmet, put them on a rope and and take them for a drive if you can't find any

I once road in shorts, t shirt and a set of slip on canvas daps, I didn't die.

Whilst I appreciate gear is somewhat important to leaving you with skin attached, I also appreciate it is a choice of the rider to wear gear and it is up to them and they shouldn't be lectured about their choices, they are old enough and big enough to make their own choice on what they wear, they know how dangerous a bike is.

Edit: That said I would send you my lid which has been dropped umpteen times now from height and is covered in plasters, but I still use it

Who is your presentation to and what do you need the crashed gear for?

Are you covering the importance of advancing training as a means of avoiding crashing?

'Proper' is subjective and so depends on many factors, I assume you'll be covering that?

I've got my cousins helmet that he crashed in, it's got some scratches on and missing the visor.

I'm in warrington, don't have any crashed gear though, because I don't crash.

I crashed my push bike and had a bit of road rash on my thigh through lycra.

Tim crashed his motorbike at almost the same speed with full motorcycle gear on and broke his leg.

It's not often the gear that saves you but the random set of events that determine the circumstance of the crash.

My wife (also a biker) has some great stories from when she was a nurse in theatres/recovery/HDU. All sorts of RTA's coming in. One biker came off at speed in jeans and trainers, so much gravel rash down one side of his body, he needed to go under a general so the nurses could scrub all the grit out the remaining flesh. Feck all left to inject a local aesthetic into and just too painful.

Only gear I've crashed in at any speed is still prefectly wearable. I'm still wearing the leather jeans I've slid down the road on my arse at over 70mph in twice now.

In crashes where the rider was KSI, I'd suspect the gear would be hardly marked at all because they usually hit something solid rather than slid about the place.

You're going to land up with lightly scuffed leathers and helmets with scraped paintwork and visors I'm afraid.

I can send you the perfectly good ski gloves and bomber jacket I was wearing when I ditched the GPZ at silly speed. The small rip in my waterproof trousers does back up your statement though, I got a wet knee after that

I'm very 50/50 on the subject of proper gear all the time nowadays.

If i'm just popping up the road then i'll grab whatever the nearest loan helmet is and shoot up the road in my hoodie like a pedboi. If i'm staying on the bike for more than five minuites then i'll always gear up regardless of weather conditions.

It really is a personal choice, however i'd still think going for a hoon (Paddy, Spain, 190mph in shorts and tshirt) with no kit on is asking for trouble & isn't a bright idea.

With this said, I binned a bike in full two piece leathers & they just kersploded round the seams on impact leaving me with a mongy knee. Wearing all the kit is pointless if it's cut price tat that's not stitched correctly in the first place (JF Pelle)

I could send you a good friends helmet but its on his grave site back home full of flowers. He was wearing it when he was knocked off his bike and died.

I train CBT and part of the day is to stress how important the full gear is and why you should wear it all the time, but even wearing it will not save your life sometimes.

The best way to not die, get injured, etc is to not crash so rather than teaching the importance of gear you should be teaching the importance of being a safe rider.

I've come off at up to 50mph.. so far none of my clothing have received any real marks.

Guess it depends how lucky you are at the time, what you hit. Also who did the stitching in your leathers/material. Maximum injury I've received is pulled muscle in my hand (still rode the bike home) and gravel rash.
