Which is the best bet? Ideally want one thats good for music. Current phone is a Htc one s and thr music quality is excellent with beats audio and sennheiser headphones.

Now the sony is better specced but how is the audio quality? Has to be on EE.

I have the Z1, now i cannot fault it for music quality - Sony is pretty well known for music (am i right?)

Sadly i cannot compare it against the htc, as my last phone was a Samsung S3.

I did have a play around with both before i bought the Z1, And i much preferred the quality and experience of the Z1!

If i was in your position, i would go to one of the outlets and try out both.. See which one you prefer in a hands on experience!

watch some reviews on youtube, it's what swayed me into getting the HTC one, can't fault it, blows my old iphone away, i wish i'd never bought an iphone if i'm honest

I think the HTC one is the better phone according to most reviews.

I do prefer the feel of the HTC and the beats Audio is bloody brilliant. But I like the waterproofing of the sony. Not keen on the huge size of it though.

You'll find the battery life on the htc one loads better than the 1s ! Built in speakers are the best of any mobile but have been known to get buzzy on some early models...fixed under warranty.

Thats good im getting 10/15 hours out of my 1 S. Its got 300 music tracks on it also. Think the Htc is the best bet. I like my missus s4 and her daughter s note 3. But the music quality is gash compared to my one s.

don't think you can go wrong with either. I like the htc one over the z1. The speaker audio on the htc is amazing. Best phone speaker I've ever heard.

one other thing to remember, You cannot expand the memory on the HTC! - I have found after asking around, my Z1 holds its charge much longer than the HTC. I charge mine every 2 days, and thats with quite a bit of playing!

HTC one+ gives you 64gb. That's heaps of storage.

I love my Z1 (mostly - I do have a couple of niggles) but I would describe the speaker as it's weakest point. I guess the speaker has to be fully waterproof so it looses out on quality because of that. It isn't bad by any means, just not brilliant, a lack of bass is the most noticeable thing. Headphone wise it is fine, and the Sony player will play all of the formats I've tried so far including FLAC.

I did consider the HTC when I was looking, but for me it is the waterproofing and camera that won me over to Sony. If it is purely the sound side of it you are after I would suggest you go for the HTC. For an overall package I cant fault the Z1.

You're thinking of the HTC one x + that's a different phone. The htc one has 32gb,which is still plenty I think.

Current phone the one s is 10gig still got 5 left. I use phone for music mainly and the usual phone and texts plus strava for Mtb. Use Samsung tablet for everything else. So 32 gig will be fine.

Get a Samsung Galaxy note 3! 32gb on board mem, then a 64gb micro sd card gives you 96gb space!

if no then i recommend the Sony Xperia Z1 over the HTC, as the Z1 will allow memory cards, I think the HTC is stuck at 32gb

if you want good audio then buy a hi Fi Laughing

the htc one audio hype is a gimmick and is only marginally better than the samsung range of phones

I've had about 5 HTC's in the past.

I've never really thought they were any good, just cheap enough to live with. They were quite unreliable for me though..

I had HTC's before the smartphone era back in the PDA days, the HTC One is been by far their best phone. HTC were cheap plastic phones, bringing out loads of new models each year but i think they have finally caught on that a good flagship phone is the way to go. I moved away from Samsung as i was sick of plastic phones, i had the Galaxy S, Galaxy S2, never bothered with the S3 or S4 and went for the HTC One.

only good thing i will say that the htc has over the samsung is the speakers are front facing so the sound sounds better but once you put headphones in the sound quality is totally dependant on the quality of your headphones & the quality of the app/software that will be playing your music

I fancy the HTC one next, I've noticed they're cheaper on Gumtree than on ebay though? You can pick up a minter for 250 on Gumtree, but you're looking at another 100 on top on ebay?

Rigga be very careful with gumtree!!

there are many people who take the piss!!

they sell you the phone then 2 or 3 weeks later have the phone blocked so they can claim on the insurance which leaves you with a blocked phone and no come back!

only way round this is to make sure they give the purchase receipt from the shop they got the phone from because with this if they do block it you can get it unblocked by the network provider as you have evidence that you legally own the phone otherwise you lose out!

i have had this done to me once and took a £100 loss as i was still be able to sell the phone.

when i have called some people on gumtree and asked for a purchase receipt some have told me bullshit and even got quite aggressive so i just hang the phone up on them!

make sure you get a real valid purchase receipt or walk away, and only either meet at their house or in a very public place like mc donalds or a police station
