Brake fluid maintenance

So, recently been ticking the boxes of how to look after my bike, cleaned then greased the chain, replaced a dodgy bulb, did an oil change.

What else should I look at? I'm thinking the brakes, but as I don't think there's much wrong with them I doubt I'd need to do anything, but can't be sure as I have little idea what I'm doing.

Worried about hints of rust appearing, I can get rid of it no problem, but can I treat the areas to prevent rust in future?

Also, it's getting quite cold out, it might snow which means gritters gritting the roads, how can I prevent corrosion?

Anything you can add would be dead helpful. Cheers.

ACF-50 for anti-corrosion. It's expensive, but my experience is that it actually works.

Brake fluid, change every 2 years, do nothing in between unless the brakes go spongy.

Please Click for proof of ACF-50. Really convinced me and many others. I gave my bike a good ol clean everywhere and against many people's advise of wiping it on, I sprayed it everywhere!

My opinion was that it would heat up, some would evaporate upwards ... maybe.

Unless I do the Deep clean I just apply with a cloth though.

Should be able to visibly check the pads on most bikes. If theyre find and everythings operating and sounding fine i'd leave them. Could do the fluid if its been a few years/arent sure when it was done but again i wouldnt be too concerned if you arent having problems.

Air filter to check/clean/replace maybe? And chain slack as well as keeping it oiled is a common one to keep an eye on.

As above acf-50 is worth every penny for rust prevention. Give it a good soapy wash down and let it dry then coat all the corrosion prone bits. Dont lather it on though a little goes and lasts a long way.
