Just picked up a senke 125 chinkmobile, its done 44,000 miles its 4 years old and in surprisingly good condition.

The chrome is perfect on the headlamp, forks, handlebars mudguards and rack, its pretty bloody good on the wheels too. Exhaust is rusty but solid.

The bodywork is mint, the brakes and suspension work well, it starts and runs like a Swiss watch and all the electrics are good too.

It is let down by a few points, the rubber fork gaiters have fallen apart, the needle has fallen off the rev counter and the speedo cable has snapped.

As far as I can tell all parts are original, it hasn't ever been cleaned or loved and it still has its original battery!

The owner sold it to me for scrap because it wouldn't start which turned out to be a seized ignition switch. He bought it for £450 brand new on the road and didn't want to take it to a garage.

I'm not one for praising Chinese bikes but after seeing the steep decline in quality of the jap stuff in recent years perhaps these are worth a look.

Good news, the odometer is likely to be in km, so you've got a 27,000 mile bike for your scrap money. Thumbs Up

The last Chinese bike I rode had a speedo that didn't know the difference between 60 and 80mph, with the needle flicking between the two when I was at a constant speed, whilst being overtaken by an articulated lorry.

So chances are it's a bit less being that the miles are driven by the same mechanism as the speedo Razz

I picked up a 50cc twist'n'go last year. Had covered 87 miles. I taxed it and had it looked over and serviced. It then went through its first MOT with one advisory - the indicator lenses have faded a little so put some orange bulbs in it. Paid £100 for it. Never let me down and I use it whatever the weather. I even cleaned it once.
