Only had mine for 40 years although there was a 12 year gap when I had not noticed that the DVLA had decided to strip it off my licence and I had to take my test again 9 years ago.

I've had mine for minus 3 years.

I really need to pass at least my A2 or something. I'm at that awkward age (21) where 2 years on an A2 will let me do my A licence at 23 but I turn 22 in July, so I'd only be beating the restriction by about 4 months.

Hmmmm.... 51 years for me, ride a 'blade and a Jota....except the Jota needs so much re-engineering that it will be a while before I trust it to actually ride it any distance.

Almost 44 years for me. OGR's description of the bike test back then is a fairly accurate one. Current bikes include a Ducati 748 and an assortment of Japanese relics.

With 23 years full licence in my wallet I feel like a kid again with all you 'old knuts'

Bike tests had just moved from 250cc to 125cc in 1983 and having purchased a C15 the year before to rebuild and ride as a first 'proper' bike I seem to recall saying 'sod it' (or words to that effect) and riding around forever on a Bantam D1. I don't recall doing either a CBT or a two part test but the history books would imply that I did the latter. (I didn't bother with my test for 5 years but vaguely remember some rules about having a provisional for a maximum of two years which is probably why I ended up taking a test)
