An attempt at KTM styling. As for how good, we'll see. Or not.

Why is it that whenever I see the word "concept" I just know it's going to be fugly?

It's just people trying to break the boundaries of what's perceived as normal. I think such designs will always seem ugly until they've been around for a while and maybe matured a bit with updates. Suzuki's Katana was the same - a lot of people thought it was really ugly when the design was first shown, but it became quite popular when people got used to seeing it a bit more. Then I think Harris Performance used the same designer (Target, IIRC) to design the Magnum 2.

In a way, this does at least have the advantage that KTM have already gotten people used to that look. I didn't like KTMs at first (the more modern, angular, road bike styles, that is), but they've grown on me quite a bit. But then, I do like orange!

Eh, dunno. It's not production, so I imagine they'd tame it down while working out how they'd actually build something that looks a bit like that.

Indian engineering might be an interesting proposition - they could divert some of our foreign aid money away from their space program. The CBF125 isn't exactly re-assuring though.

It kind of looks like a cheap and tacky KTM Superduke 1290. And Something about it just doesn't quite look right - probably just that only 2 parallel exhaust downpipes just doesn't look right on this type of bike.

If this does go into production then it will likely not look quite as radical as this to be honest. The prototype is just to grab people's attention.

The below image shows the differences between the KTM SuperDuke 1290 and the actual production version. Obviously they are both similar, the the production version doesn't look nearly as extreme as the concept:

It looks like a climbing frame in a kids park.
That swing arm design is not a good look.
