First of all a back story went and signed on at an agency Wednesday, signed me up for a continuous job 40hrs a week. Got a phone call today and was told the date has been put back, am I willing to do this one last night (17miles away). Bear in mind it's been raining heavily.
Ended up going tonight and finished my shift (supposed to be in today), on the way I knocked the idle to 4k. Upon exiting the car park there was a speed bump couldn't go around. I agree that I hit it at 10 mph (speed limit). Which was extremely stupid. However upon going over the speed bump my wheel went out into a skid, tried to correct it.
Next thing I see I'm on the wrong side of the road and heading straight for a barrier ducked my head, however the barrier hit me in the neck and flung me off the bike. Paramedics were called as I had major pain in my arm and couldn't move it. Turned out to be bruised muscle. Luckily nothing else is painful after leaving the bike to settle managed to ride home. (Only damage is mirrors are screwed)

Now the damage could of been a lot worse for me I haven't had any sleep yet and hopefully nothing will result tomorrow.
HOWEVER my main concern is what is going to happen now insurance wise I have no idea myself what is going to happen at all. Speaking to the security guard he said that it wouldn't go to court. The actual barrier has bent it still opens and closes however not very well. So they are obviously going to get a new one. We swapped details well I gave him my name and he got the REG number.
Just need advice don't want to mention too many details just encase this got worse.
TLDR; hit a security barrier whilst on the bike in a skid, barrier is bent and I need advice on what will happen or what to do. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS

I know it seems to be en vogue at the moment on forums to criticise riders/drivers after an accident, but I don't like that attitude and I'd like to give you a get out.
Sadly, if I'm reading your post correctly I don't see one. You were negligent, while you were travelling at the "speed limit", (private site presumably) it is a limit not a target and your lack of bike control and awareness caused significant and expensive damage to the other parties property. Therefore, irrespective of what the security guard said, I'd be expecting a claim from the companies insurance company imminently.
Best case? You prove that the speed hump had incorrectly applied (slippy) road markings, or was perhaps over some arbitrary specified height or width and that contributed to the accident.
As another biker, I'm glad you're relatively unhurt, and the bike seems relatively unscathed.
Good luck.

Did it look like this?

Barriers get crashed into. Probably wont cost much for a new bar, assuming the mechanism is not damaged.
Does sound like you do not know how to use speed bumps. To go over them quickly, apply mild throttle and stand on the pegs rather than sit on seat. No brakes as you hit/go over/land or the above picture happens |

You should sue them for your injuries and damage to your vehicle.
If you were travelling at a speed they suggested over an obstacle they constructed and it caused you to lose control of your vehicle then they failed to ensure your health and safety on their premises.

You appear to be in the fault there, how are you not in control of a 125 and why did you turn the idle up?
I would question if riding a bike is for you. You've been riding a fair while and if you can't emergency stop or even go over a speed bump, I'd be considering a bus pass |

Wait until you're better then crash into the barrier going the opposite way to even it out again.
In seriousness though, how bad can it be? It's a barrier, so it must be designed to take some kind of knock. They might even be able to just beat the kinks out of it until it's straight again then refit it? ____________________ 2007 BMW R1200R: On road

paying for a new barrier pole to be fitted is probably gonna cost £500-£1000, how do I know? I`ve bent a few in the last 12 months ____________________ I accept no responsibility for swearing, drinking, motorcycle riding or your pregnant teenage daughter. |

can't say i've ever had any trouble with speedbumps...even in the very very wet.
standing on pegs definitely helps and it fun going over them ____________________ Current: Honda City Fly CLR125 2003 Honda CB600F Hornet 2008 Yamaha FZ6 S2 + 1991 Kawasaki GPZ500

Smiler, I'm sorry buddy but it was a complete lack of control on your part. For a guy that has been riding on and off for a few years, you should have a degree of control by now.
Lucky to be alive....? Really, if it was about 10-15mph and due to a speed bump that you then flew into a barrier...
I really do hope you learn to ride properly and in control before someone else gets hurt when you make another mistake. Sorry for being so brutally honest but not being in control is just fucking dangerous. |

Accidentally knocked the idle up to 4k revs.?
Yeah, knocking an idle would do that.
Who are you trying to kid? It wouldn'y surprise me if you did it as some sort of cruise control.
I love you, man. ____________________ My fingers smell of your mum. |
