I live in some new flats and was connected with sky a few months back. When the technician installed the internet the cable system for the flats was terrible. He had to put caps on cables and bits of what looked like tin foil to bounce back the connection. It worked fine.

Fast forward to today and the internet is crawling to 56k speed. I opened the flats 'always bloody open' cupboard which houses the cables and it's a war in there....as more people have moved in, the more botch jobs have been installed. I get the impression some twat from another company has tapped in to a random flat's cable (mine) and are using this to supply another flat.

Could I be right in thinking this?? There's cables connected to cables and tin foil, caps all over the place.

If they have done this...where do I stand? with the landlord or just asking Sky to sort it out due to a lack of speed???

Cheers for reading me rant about internet. ha.

I don't suppose that it matters too much, given that you're all likely sharing a single cable in to the block of flats anyway.

What matters is that the connections are good and there's no interference/shorting/whatever.

As above. Get an engineer. Get someone to properly investigate it/fix it.

Is probably gypsies. Buy more lucky heather.

Or you could escalate it to a complaint if they don't sort it in the very immediate now.
