Hi first post here so be gentle please

Just ordered this rear yam blue spot

When it was advertised the bolts were in the holes on the caliper, but now obviously one hole is damaged, the thick cunts dropped it and the holes oval now at one end and the bolt wont go through.

Defiantly dont want to be hitting it to straighten it!

Would filing the bolt face flat again (which isnt to far from flat anyway), and getting the round file on the oval end of the hole be ok?

Can you return for refund? If not i'd maybe heat it then try and beat it into shape but I guess that could weaken it. That must have hit pretty hard.

I would use that, yes, as long as it's not fractured further down.
Filing probably the best way to sort it as you say.

I would not fit that to my bike or a customers without cleaning up and fitting a timesert which costs ££

I wouldn't recommend fitting it to someone else when you have the option to return it, but if it was me I would file it back and fit the part.

I wouldn't heat it and beat it.

If you applied heat and forced a bolt into it I doubt it'd lose much strength?

Anything else and I would say twat it until its back in shape but when it comes to the things that stop you I would say replace it. Get a replacement on Ebay or something. Chances are it would probably be fine but personally when it comes to brakes I wouldnt risk it.

Try for a replacement but if that's not an option try gently filing or scraping out high point. Obviously try and keep hole as round as possible. If you have a machine shop nearby ask if they'll have a look at it, a quick file and a ream and it will be sorted. If there is no sign of cracking I would have no real concerns.

Don't even consider heating it or thumping it with hammers.

I work with metal daily so my opinion is an informed one.

Dress the hole gently with a 'Rat tail' file back to round, couple of minutes job then use it.

Just drill it or file it don't heat it, its not much of a dent and wont have lost any strength

As other have said, return it if possible, if not, drill it from behind. (no pun intended).

The key thing here is that its not threaded, so its much easier than if it was a threaded hole.

To be honest, I would be chucking it straight back to the seller. At the end of the day, when you paid money for an undamaged item, why settle for anything else.

You may be surprised at how willing the seller is to take it back or replace it.

Update

From going off the comments above it doesn't seem like the end of the world.

I've contacted the seller who instantly offered to pick it with his courier and offer a full refund, he was %100 feedback and has sold over 15k of parts in the last twelve month so this response I was expecting.

I explained to him that I had been waiting on ebay to throw up this part as I had it as a saved search for over two months, and I have waited longer to find one in such good condition (Pictured and described!) for a fair price.

I further explained that I believed it could be repaired but its value decreased and that I had already ordered a set of seals to rebuild it.

He offered to let me keep it and refund me £10.

I'm happy with that and shall let my uncle take it to his place of work where they can use the same Non Destructive Testing procedures the welders use to check for cracks, Dye Pen he called it.
