Cg125 for two stroke 125 rs/derbi

Just new to this, but would I be daft to get rid of an 08 cg with 3000 miles on it for some type of two stroke 125 such as a cagivo mito, aprilla rs, derbi gpr?

Plus what's the deal with de restricting them etc?

Foolish IMO, get some experience with the reliable CG and then graduate to a proper big bike when the time comes.

That's what I thought a bit dodgy to get something that's de restricted when the cg is a good bike for commuting every morning but when it comes to going a run struggles to sit at 60 with a full tank

Swings and roundabouts really.
I used an NSR 125 2 stroke de-restricted as my only form of transport for 4 years and it was awesome *grins*.
Have just rebuilt a spare engine top & bottom, should be good fun.
The NSR has slightly less power than the RS's etc but far more reliable.
Chances of getting pulled as long as you ride sensibly etc are slim to 0 and its more a case of moral perspective I recon.

It isn't everyone's cup of tea, certainly doesn't have the out right punch of bigger bikes but the power delivery is quiet unique and I enjoy them but how many of us could afford to own bigger 2 stokes

How is it with mixing the two stroke with the petrol is it just as simple as doing it on a chainsaw? Is it no a pain doing it as I'd have thought you have to wait till your tanks near on empty to get the correct mix

Those bikes have autolube systems you don't mix oil and fuel

I have a Derbi GPR 125 project you can have for £400 but keep the CG as your daily runner
