Hi guys,

I'm in the process of looking into some boots to get as my Weise Highways are leaking like a sieve in this weather and my feet get SOAKED every time I pop out.

I want a smaller type of boot that I can wear with jeans while at uni/work etc and I have shortlisted a few TCX boots that I like the look of.

The boots in question are here:
TCX X-Street
TCX Jupiter Evo Gore-Tex
TCX X-Move

Does anyone have any of the above and wouldn't mind sharing their thoughts on them? Or perhaps letting me know of other boots I should look into.

Cheers.

If you're only after short-ankle boots you would probably save a lot of cash getting some surplus boots, and they may well even be more durable than a lot of those.

The soles on some are quite thick which can feel strange on the pegs sometimes so keep in mind to check how raised they are before buying any of them.

I've got the X-move.

Warm (too warm!) comfy, easy to ride with them on and decent quality.

Bit expensive I suppose but I'd buy a pair again. And you can wear them without people going "look at that knob wearing motorbike boots in Tesco".

I needed waterproof boots anyway as I didn't have any but I didn't want massive boots when I only ride a 125 Laughing

I have the icon patrol boots as my pair of short boots.

They come up over the ankle, and have reinforcements internally.
Look pretty much like a pair of walking/work boots when under jeans, mine are much, much darker than the picture suggests. Waterproof lining (have yet to let anything through for me) and I like the metal bindings, you can get a really snug fit.

I've had a pair of x-cube that look like the Jupiter, they last three winters and plenty of walking before they started to let in a little water, so I would recommend the Jupiter evo's

I have the Jupiter Evo Gore-Tex boots. Been riding in all weather since September with them now and haven't let a drop of water in.

Also, very warm and comfortable to walk around in. I actually think they're more comfortable than a normal pair of trainers to be honest.

Would recommend.

Because I'm too tall for my own good, ankle boots don't cut it for me. I've got the TCX X-Five Goretex Plus boots which I got in a January sale a year ago. They have been absolutely perfect. Certainly not cheap but I've had a lot of cheap "waterproof" boots which didn't keep me dry for long.

If you happen to be a size 10-11 I have a pair of hein gericke goretex ankle boots I can't use in the rain because my trousers ride up too high. PM me if you're interested.

The Alpinestar Web Gore-Tex are really good, I was recommended them by a few people here when my Spadas could take no more, I highly recommend Thumbs Up

I too have a pair of X-Street for work, however went for the White pair which ain't waterproof but got a good deal. Kind of wish I went for the waterproof version for a bit more as do tend to get wet feet now and then...

Proper comfy though for wearing all day, and were comfy from brand new, no breaking them in needed
