Well, I managed to take my FZR Thou out on Sunday, first time in two years I've got my leg over Very Happy It was such a buzz to be on 2 wheels again. Brakes need a lot to be desired and the front felt a bit jittery but the biggest bug bear was the bars, It felt like my wrists were on fire after half an hour. I'd forgotten about sports bars after spending years with drag bars on my fighter, so the list will go R1 Blue or gold spots, then a fork rebuild and probably a top yoke conversion. I dont want to pull all the plastics off this one though, as its pretty standard and I'm a big fan of the looks. it may just be the case I'm not used to that position and it'll get better as I use it.
chuffed to bits with the old beast though and am looking forward to some decent weather.

Or rather than fuck with it, buy a bike more suited to your old wrists? Laughing

Or get used to supporting yourself with your core rather than putting all you weight onto the bars

Is the Fzr riding position not more or less the same as the XJ6?

I thought they were the same position. I was considering a Fzr for this reason.

I haven't sat on one, hence the question really.

I didn't think Fzr was a sports bike.

EDIT: I know what the problem is here. I am confusing a Fzr with a Fazer.
