no brake light urgent

few days ago I noticed front brake wasn't working but I wasn't bothered as rear worked fine but now today I noticed my brake light doesn't work im worried it going to be a big problem

I going to try replace bulb tomorrow and get a new switch and hope this works

I did connect both wires together and still no light but surly it cant be a problem with the wire if it been working and now all of a sudden its failed to work I checked rear bulb and theres a small burnt mark inside in the middle my tail light still works

If the lamp doesn't illuminate when you touch the brake light switch wires together then almost certainly the bulb is blown.
