Looking to sell my bike next month, wondering what I should fix before then.

Small issues:
One indicator lenses is missing, the other's taped up, looks like accident damage but the truth's they were cheap eBay indicators they fell apart.

Big issues:
Headset bearings need replacing, at least that's what someone told me was causing the bike to pull to the left.

Rear brakes are shot, and the rear axle won't come out so can't check what's wrong.

Developing issues:
Something's started rattling, at normal (not low) speeds, sounded worse going home today so whatever it's will probably go soon.

Possibly the same issue, when I back my bike out & turn it to the left, the front brake sounds like it's binding, but it doesn't at any other time (unless the above is the same problem). Could the headset be causing this?

Thanks for any advice.

I take it that you will be selling it dirt cheap if you only going to repair some of these bits? In which case why repair any of it?

Regardless of all the other delightful ailments, was it the previous owner who told you this?
Headset bearings tend to cause judder and/or 'graunching' on turning.
Pulling to one side would (IMHO) be more commonly caused by bent forks, twisted frame/yolks/headset or possibly binding brakes. Knackered headset bearings would be inclined to give as poor a performance in one direction as the other.

Either do all the work or none, but please be honest with the buyer if you don't do any of it. Knowing you're buying a shitty bike is a world apart from selling a wankered piece of crap to a naïve teenager who thinks he/she has a bargain

If you are reluctant to sell, just fix it up, keep receipts and deal with a little bit of loss on it. You obviously do not want anyone to come to harm.

I'd list it on ebay with those faults, although pulling to one side would make me think brakes dragging slightly (although...more than likely not the issue given its only got 2 wheels, derp) or the frame is bent. Laughing

Anyone got that old post "how to flog a dog"??

Before the fella turns up to buy the bike loosen the headstock castke bolt spray some spray grease in there and re tighten this won't stop the bike pulling left or right that's a different problem if your head bearings were shot you would feel notchyness and some play when rocking being an off roader it's probably be down the road a few times

Maybe bent forks frame yokes? You can bodge anything if you know how but it depends his dangerous you wanna be
Why do you need to remove the rear axle to change brake pads?

Sorry for mistakes I'm on the phone

So long as you've mentioned what you know to him then he can hardly have grounds to moan if it were to go 'terminal' in the future and you certainly wouldn't need to feel guilty.

Yeah, number one derp for saying 'binding brakes' Embarassed

Where in London are you? I'm pretty confident that I could get that rear axle and brake sorted, given suitable incentive.

Provided that tea can be exchanged for a coffee of equal or greater value, I should be able to accommodate you. Assuming it's parked on the street, it's rather dependent on not being shit weather, unless you head over here to East London.
