Ive got the series 3 I want to transport. I tried put it in a rucksack on the back seat with a cargo net but when I tested the lean, it wasn't supported enough and wouldn't risk it not falling off on the road.

People recommend the Kriega 10 but any preferably cheaper alternatives? Ideally like to squeeze my work shoes and gym kit in it too.

You pay for Kriega Stuff, and rightly so! They are bloody great! I use my US10 as a gym bag since it can fit my trainers and jogger bottoms and base layer + shirt no problem.

When you ride through weather like we've had recently, you'll be thankful for the Kriega US series! Plus, you can stash it onto other Kriega bags to make the ideal touring solution! I've got the R20, R30, US10 and US20 and SWEAR by them!

If Tot was on commission for anything, it would be rohypnol.

I have a Kreiga US20. Awesome piece of kit, that's what I'd recommend.

You do often get what you pay for though.

Whilst I've never seen/tried that bag, my Kreiga comes with a 10 year guarantee and feels as if I'll never need to use it. Just look at peoples reviews of Kreiga and that'll tell you a lot about the quality of the product itself.

I know the bag is sturdy in the bike but how is the chain inside? Does it move around a lot to affect the weight distribution because how heavy it is?

If you bundle it in like a ball it tends to flop around and slide a more when cornering. I've used mine in a similar pack before and it was fine. Excuse the snake, can't find a relevant chain picture Laughing but if you tightly coil it flat like so it seems to sit fairly stable. Still a hefty lump, but portable Razz https://digital-desert.com/wildlife/snakes/320-night-snake-2.jpg

Yeah I'd love to get one, more than one in fact, just forked out so much already in start up costs for my foray into biking that I'm trying to limit anymore (well the wife is!)

Might just have to sneak one on the credit card. Already have a laptop bag, with that, shoes and lunch in. Be good to find something to fit that and my chain AND my gym kit and not topple the little 125 over!

Where are you planning on parking that needs your bike locked with an almax? I use one at home, but I've never considered carrying it about with me.

Gym on ropey industrial estate, unlit, no CCTV. Few unsavoury characters. Pikeys even park up their horse and cart outside while they train (no joke). Work carpark is secure

Plus wouldnt want to risk the insurance not paying out if I didnt use it and it was nicked. Shouldnt have declared it.

Ah, anywhere with pikeys is different.

Lock your bike to a lamppost, not to a sign post, as sign posts can be ripped up without too much trouble.

I use an oxford RT15 tailpack. It seems sturdy enough, but I've never tried to put a 10kg chain in it

Was eyeing up a metal fence which keeps people out of big electrical stations. Looks pretty sturdy. Any lampost would be out on the high street. There's another metal pole fence thing to stop people reversing into things but not sure how deep thats concreted in.

Would a second hand top box not be cheaper.

Out of interest, what do you use when out and about? Surely your bike can be dragged off anywhere you leave it?

For me, if its local which it usually is in my case, I take the almax in a tail pack [its all that fits in it - just a small pack on the back seat]. Then chain it to any lampost or other unmoveable I can find near to where I want to park. Disc lock on the front. Alarm on. Done Razz

I have a crappy 10mm oxford chain, but mostly, if I'm going anywhere dodgy, I take the car.

Its only a cheap one I use for lugging the chain as its a bit dodgy for waterproofing.

Got it years ago off ebay for my scooter, i'm not sure what brand it is - nearly identical to this though

My almax is a 1.5m and fits in along with the lock when its wrapped in tightly.

Mine's 1.5 too. Could be a an option but gym kit would have to bungee over the top in gym bag as not too heavy.

Might even work in your favour doing that as the gear on top and bungees around it should help keep the chain sat still Thumbs Up

Went and picked up a US20 in the end. Went to the shop and the 10 looked small, so forked out. Got it back and the chain sits easily in the back, along with the my gym kit and room for a bit more bits and bobs. Still not enough room for my laptop & lunch though - might need to get a 10 to go on top! Shocked Laughing
