Bike's just not accelerating. Seems to be seriously jerky and sluggish.

Any ideas? https://i.imgur.com/egBuY9a.jpg

How could it possibly get that bad naturally! Surely it would've been useless long before it reached that state?

https://www.reddit.com/r/Justrolledintotheshop/comments/1wuvid/customer_wonders_why_his_bike_wont_accelerate_and/

About two months ago the gentleman came in and asked for a new front tire. We replaced his tire and kindly told him that his Cain and sprockets were both worn out and should be replaced ASAP. Gave him a quote and of course he left, saying he'd be back tomorrow to order the parts. Big surprise we didn't see him.
One month later he comes slowly riding in and wants to know what WE did to his bike to make it so slow! Couldn't help but laugh. Anyways he of course left the bike with is and we fixed it, but the sheer negligence always confounds me.
