BT 'Hub' connection problem.

A mate of mine has bought a Tablet and has a BT 4G wireles router and is finding that when the Hub is plugged in to the 'phone socket it works. When he also plugs in his Sky TV 'phone line, his 'phone. and his garage bell extension, in any or all configurations his tablet doesn't work...........Ideas ?, explanation ?.

Has he tried the router with any other wireless devices connected?

When you say he's plugging in his Sky box etc, are they being plugged into the hub or to a BT socket?

Does he have filters fitted to all the other devices?

Hi Andy, he's plugging this lot into his BT phone socket and no, he has no other devices using the Hub...............Eddie.

Hi Lew, no he only has the filter supplied with the router. Some fine fellow in India has told him that the problem exists with his house BT connection/set up. Eddie.

Right.........My mate up to now, in his BT wall socket has had plugged in.....'phone, Sky TV box, 'phone extension to his garage. He ordered a BT 4G Wireless Hub...plugs it into the BT wall socket...hey presto, it works...he then plugs the initial three plugs into the ADSL/'phone orifice and the Hub ceases working. No matter what in any sequence or individually he plugs the original lines into the ADSL....the Hub doesn't work......take all of these plugs out and the hub works. I've got a spare new ADSL so I'll pop around there in the morning and see if that makes any difference. Geddit ?.....Eddie.

So... I assume that the hub is plugged into a filter, which in turn is plugged into the BT socket?
and the other devices are also plugged into the other socket of the same filter?
If so, then it should work. I'd advise trying a different filter.

Ok

So with a ADSL filter plugged into the socket & the BT Router plugged into the DSL port of the filter, everything works.
However, plugging ANYTHING into the phone port kills off the router?

Filter is Fubar

Yup, that's it. Bin told by BT to plug everythin' in while they do atest from their end and will get back ti him this PM.......Eddie.

Oddly enough I've got a couple of new ADSL filters one of which I was going to take up to his house before he let me know that BT was going to replace the Hub.
