Who is your motorcycling icon? The National Motor Museum Trust are revamping their motorcycle exhibition and looking to recognise those riders who have contributed to two wheeled history. A chance for us to have our say at www.motorcyclingicons.co.uk.

Peter Purves, for his commentary in Kick Start (or was it Junior Kick Start?).

I suspect every generation has its own icons. Only a few would cross over the generations. For example I doubt anyone would consider John Surtees in a motorcycle context even though he was world champion. Yet someone as a teenager in the 70s would probably only think of Barry Sheene. Likewise jumping to the 00s I suspect Rossi would be in the frame. Of course TT fans have their own hall of fame.

My motorcycling icon. My Dad. He rode and contributed to my two wheel history. Thumbs Up

Who?

Anyway, Foggy was summit else. But can't beat Joey.

Foggy was a big cry baby and not much of a rider either. He loved to blame the machinery rather than his lack of skill when he failed which was often. He was a short circuit racer of sorts but when it came down to real racing he was a weener, a very small weener. Please do not use the names Dunlop and Foggy in the same sentence, shameful grammar.
