Gsxr 600 power commander

Hey everyone

Im after some advice, I've recently installed a full stainless yoshi r55 system on my k8 gsxr 600 (I obtained the full system cheaper that just a slip on) and need to know if I need to install a power commander on the bike.
Like I said I only obtained the full system as it was cheaper than just a slip on, so I'm not overly interested in the extra 3hp I may gain but am more concerned about the engine if a PC need to be installed.
Any help or advice would be great.

Your engine will run better with a PC. Not too sure how it will run right now though, might be a little down in power.

I haven't been out on the bike yet I've say it on the drive and started it up as I wasn't sure about if I had to put a PC on it. Someone told me as it's a newer bike it will be ok but wasn't sure.

The definitive answer is to get some dyno time with an experienced operator, all the doubt and worry gone then, look around and see who is in your area.

If it's got a full system then yes a PCIII is pretty vital. You've altered how the whole exhaust system breathes, and binned the exhaust valve and cat. This makes your exhaust far less restrictive.

Where did you manage to pick up a full Yoshimura system for less than the price of a Yoshimura can out of interest?

I managed to get the whole exhaust system off eBay for £300 a guy was having trouble selling it so I flashed £££ in his face he couldn't refuse I did try getting it cheaper but he weren't that desperate lol
