Hi All,

So a few weeks ago i was sure i was going to be walking away with a F800 GS but the tides have turned and i'm decreasing my budget and a few other variables.

I'm not stuck for a bike that would be happy on my A2 license so i was wondering if i could get some help.

About me:
6ft 3 relatively long in the leg
about 80kg

Budget:
£2500 - £3200 if bike is right

Requirements:
Will provide a bit of extra fun once the restrictor comes off (looking for 4 years out of this)
Good for a first bike
Can be restricted pref through throttle pin, epu
Easy to ride round town (i live in London)
Easy to maintain
Comfy pillion
Comfortable on the motorway

Bikes i've thought about
- CBF 600 - seem to be able to get one from about 2007
- V-strom - again about 06 / 07
- er6-f seem to be able to get around 10 reg (would like new model)
- gs650 not to sure if i can get the twin for the budget.

Any info would be great.

So any suggestions tips etc would be great. [/list]

What did you use for your A2 training and tests, and what did you like and dislike about that bike?

No bike to add to the list as such so apologies in advance for that but this statement caught my eye.

TBH, I'd say look to keep it for your restricted period only - a 'first bike' is rarely a forever bike, so to speak. When you've got the full beans licence you'll more than likely be looking at chopping in for something all round 'better' anyway.

Well, I know I would be....

Have you thought about the yamaha xj6? While training for my test (A2) i used that bike and couldn't fault it Smile also after the restriction is over you will have an extra 20ish bhp to play with.
