Stolen from Bidborough Street, St Pancras on Monday 17 February between 17.50 and 20.00 a brand new dragon red (bright red) Vespa GTS 300 scooter, with matching topbox, full height windscreen and a Tucano Urbano leg cover.

Plate: LC63 YBB; three weeks old, appx 500km on the clocks. A couple of stone chip marks on the left hand side of the bike and the topbox, some scratches on the left hand side of the windscreen from when the wind blew it over.

If seen, please call the Met.

None.

But it's this model, with a matching topbox, full height windscreen and a Tucano Urbano leg cover.

Bah, London. Best of luck.

At a glance, is there anywhere on that bike or its wheels where you could even fit a substantial chain through?

That sucks.

I'm kind of glad that most people think the SH is ugly, the vespas are very cute.

You could wrap a chain around the floorboards, if you could park alongside something to anchor to. That rules out most bike bays though.

You could probably fit a 16mm chain through the rear too. I was able to fit a 16mm chain through the rear wheel of a Vity, with 10" wheels (IIRC) - but not the front, the brake disc stopped it.

You could definitely fit a 2m 16mm chain underneath the vespa's seat however. My SH has almost no space (for a scooter) underneath, but it can fit the chain easily. Nicely centralized mass, no need for any tail packs, almost no effect on handling, etc.
