Reading another thread on here got me thinking.... I was intending putting a centre stand on my Bonnie to make life easier cleaning the chain etc.... I've only ever used a centre stand on a 125 on my cbt... I struggled a bit tbh Embarassed but think it was my technique that was wrong, the Bonnie weighs 225kg, I'm 5'8 and 12 stone, will I struggle to lift it on? It costs around £170 so I want to be sure, maybe I should get something else to lift it up, such as the strongarm, what do you think? Shocked

No idea on other methods to lift it, you should be okay getting it on the stand with practice though. Im 5"9-10 and 9st and have got a mates falco up plenty of times (think around 220kg full).

Just have to get the grip and momentum right probably. I struggled with my scooter years back and again with little 125s on CBT. Just takes practice Thumbs Up

Tbh it's not necessarily to do with the weight of the bike itself so much as where the point of balance is that's created by the positioning of the stand (iow the design of the bike!), and also - as said - the technique used. So for instance I've got a bike that weighs 120kg that's markedly harder to get on the stand than another weighing 180. Summarily though it's not about strength. Just make sure both prongs of the stand are grounding before applying the requisite force - because instability is far more likely to occur if you don't (and thus the bike falling to one side or the other).

The Bonnie is a bit more difficult to get on the centre stand, to be honest. It also depends upon which stand you use - factory or the popular ebay one at half the price (it is slightly shorter and a real heave.)

I'd get something else, maybe a paddock stand, although that can be tricky too on the Bonnie.

Some heavy bikes simply fly up onto the centrestand but it takes a bit of practice to do it on the Bonnie without thinking (which will happen eventually).
