I wouldn't have thought you would have any problem keeping up with a RS125. Can't say i've ever seen a streetfightered ER-5, should look good though.

I still think a 500 would have a top speed more than 100ish mph Smile.

rs125 - 125cc
er-5 - 500cc

rs125 - (couldnt find anywhere)
er-5 - 197kg (dry)

No RS does does 115. Ever. The rule of thumb is, the higher the 'top speed' number you're given by the owner, the bigger the twat he is. Razz

For a start you'd hope the er5 will make pretty much exactly on 33hp, while the rs will most probably be a fair bit under that.

Then the er5 should have a much broader range of torque, meaning it will be much 'easier' to ride quicker.
The rs125 dry weight is 134kg I think. Add a rider and the proportional difference is less.

In my opinion you can't 'street fighter' an already naked bike... it's just another 'custom'.

Oh well, yeah, mine does but that's only because I have anodised bolts and a carbon look rear hugger. Course the main speed increase comes from my 12ft high spoiler I've attached to the rear seat. Razz

My Son Andrew has an Er5 (he is training tommorow and monday, then has his test tuesday and......fingers crossed he'll get let loose on it then, but in the mean time I have ridden it and I can say it goes quite well, has a VERY broad torque band (useable power) and will do 90 two up with me and him on it and I weigh 24stone, so with a single lightweight rider should be good for a ton.

We have had his bike on the dyno since restriction and it came out at 31.2bhp copy of dyno run attached

Yes I ride a restricted ER-5

Firstly DONT STREETFIGHTER IT as you will look a bit of a pillock

0-60 6-7 seconds? but its not like you will ride like that anyways

once you hit 80 acceleration does slow down considerably but it will nudge the tonne restricted

its comfy and happily cruises at 80 on a duel carrigeway/motorway

the power is so useable as kassandrich said you can pull from 30-100 in 6th gear

in 6th gear it stops revving at 7200RPM so you cant thrash it

and dont worry about keeping up with an RS125

me and keith have been on a rideout and there was no problem there, however we were not racing about or anything!

What's yer budget for extras??

Blitz headlight £60

Renthal bars £30

New can £50- £100

You may need longer brake lines after you've fitted the Renthals, go for braided lines at about £30

New grips-Renthal £7

Pretty cheap really Very Happy

I'm sure you can buy a Remus can for the ER-5 which replaces the OE can, also you can replace the downpipes with Motad Stainless ones or just get a full motad system which adds according to Motad 5% more mid-range.
