well i am 17 (yes abit old) and took my cbt on a geared bike, i kinda failed and was told to read the highway code before i take my road ride again. well once i get my cbt...

i am looking forward to buying a second hand aprilia rs 125 or honda nsr. i did really want a rs125 but am considering the nsr as overall it may seem better, what do you think? i intend to spend something like 1300-1700. poor student you know Rolling Eyes

i intend to take a test within 2 years before my cbt runs out so will likely sell it afterwards (if i successfully complete it lol) Razz

i have been told theres a thread on what steps to take on buying a second hand bike but can't find it. can you post the link please? if there isn't one anymore then what do i need to look at before buying a 2nd hand motor? i need to know everything from picking the right bike to maintenance.

Have a read of this thread for what to check when buying bikes.

1300-1700, I'd say you'd be best lookg at about £1000-1400, remember to budger for insurance, clothing & security stuff.

Also, you can easily do your test before the two year CBT is ending. You can do intensive courses if you want to skip the 125 stage, you do your CBT on the first day then a few days training on 125's follwed by your test. You then have your restricted license (33bhp for two years). You can do it at any point after you've been on the roads for a bit with a few lessons really.
