Even before passing my test I was dribbling over pictures of the street triple. Since passing my test I have been keeping one eye on auto-trader . I spotted a nice looking one not too far away but had to wait until I got a lid and clothing before I could take it out and hoping it wasn't sold in the meantime. Lid etc sorted and I arranged the test drive for yesterday. The weather was perfect for it. I have to say I was very nervous as it was the first time out following my test, I was on my own and on a different bike, but the nerves went away after about 50 yards up the road.

It was amazing. Everything I hoped it would be. Anyway I bought it. I know I probably should have test riden a few bikes but on this occasion my heart definitely ruled my head. It is a 2012, low mileage and has all the extras and in my favourite colour for the bike, white.

We are away next weekend so will pick it up the weekend after. Can't wait. Bring on the summer and the open road.

Over 15 tanks I'm averaging 55mpg and that's not trying to conserve fuel, not short shifting. It's a mix of dual and single carriageway with a fair bit of overtaking.

The new ones are supposed to be 30% more efficient. I won't be commuting on it and probably not doing a huge amount of miles so doesn't bother me too much.

If we had any sense we wouldn't be on bikes to begin with. Good work. Thumbs Up

Great first bike, one of the best looking nakeds made IMO

I had a quick pootle on my mate's one yesterday! nice introduction to big bikes, the thing was a goddamn animal and he spanks the fuck out of it everywhere. I was stunned at how sensitive the throttle was, literally a light twist and its up to 4-5k RPM, bit different than the Honda XR125 I was riding all day.

Did a very gentle 5mph up and down the car park, U turn, then jumped off it sharpish before I got myself into trouble, His is black with gold wheels and utterly fuckin gorgeous

Brilliant bikes, i've got an Orange 2010 and absolutely love it, I get mid 40's mpg out of it witch isn't bad for a 600+ sports bike.

I admit test riding them does make you buy one Very Happy

Have fun on it and Ride Safe

No mate, I'm BCF! Cool

......there are so many forums for each niche of bikes, can't keep up, so sticking with just one. Although might take a look at the street forum for ideas and see if there are any ride outs / events etc

Are you Kol on street forum too?

One of my welshie mates swears by it. He added one onto his Speed and says it made a huge difference. Rode it down to Le Mans last year from Anglesey no bother.
