A technician from the department has just come into my office and said "still got your bike" and I replied "yeah", he then said "one minute" and left.

I thought oh shit, has someone knocked my bike over, or have I parked it somewhere and got a ticket or something?!

He come back with a Hein Gericke bag saying he'd been cleaning out an old locker and found these with the price tag still on ...

A pair of HG gortex waterproof trousers!!! they're too long for him so he gave them to me - fucking brilliant!!!

My current set are some ebay cheapies which are the definition of NOT waterproof.

So today I did get some £120 gortex textile trousers from some poor idiot who left them in a locker in our old School.

Cool

My Hein Gericke jacket leaks like a sieve. Only found out after they went bust. So, good luck with those trizers! Smile

just above the knee, they have an "airvent system"

Everything sounds better with system after it, or matrix.

If it doesn't say Gore-Textm on it, it's not Gore-Textm in it, cuz.

I'm of the point of view that you either buy Gore-Textm gear, or go as cheap as you can and then throw waterproofs over the top. Everything in the middle is likely[*] coming out of the same sweatshop as the cheap stuff, with a varying amount of brand markup on it.

I've currently got duck tape wrapped round the arms of my RST jacket to see if I can eke it out until spring. Whistle

[*] = "in my head"

Mine has been really good so far, but then its only really been properly tested a few times.
It's Sheltex as opposed to Gore-Tex.

Result on the troosers, op. Thumbs Up
